Conservation Tips

“We follow the lead of GCA’s Conservation and National Affairs and Legislative (NAL) Committees, which work together to serve the GCA mission “to restore, improve, and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement.”

PGC’s Conservation Interest Group takes field trips and meets several times a year to discuss conservation issues.

The GCA Conservation Pledge
To preserve America’s beauty and natural heritage for future generations, we pledge to:

  • Promote conservation stewardship through environmental education and advocate scientifically-based environmental legislation;

  • Work to protect endangered species, especially flora, to promote biodiversity and to conserve natural resources;

  • Encourage the responsible use of our public lands for the benefit of all citizens and

  • Work to reduce industrial, municipal, and household waste and advocate the prevention of pollution of soil, air and water.

Useful weblinks and information:

The GCA Conservation Committee members publish Conservation Watch, a quarterly online newsletter featuring conservation and environmental news from around the country. The focal issues for the NAL Committee are detailed in the GCA Position Papers. PGC members may subscribe on the GCA website to the Legislative Update for information about issues before Congress.
